A thing of beauty
Last weekend, I went to Senchi on the river bank of Volta for a quiet vacation. And while there, we went to see the Adamo Bridge that is on the Volta Lake/River confluence.
Adamo bridge is a 1957 construction by a British Architect firm and is an arch model with the ends set in concrete and the steel deck is hung from the steel cables dropping from the arch. With a span of around 300-350m, the design is quite simple, sturdy and must have been installed in a year maximum. Simple and Elegant designs are a pleasure to watch and enjoy. After 56 years, the bridge stands as a beautiful piece of architecture. A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
